Mienas Irish Handmade Nougat

Miena established her nougat-making business in her own kitchen in Co Wicklow in 2010. Born out of a love for food, nature and all things natural.

 

More than 15 years later, Mienas Irish Handmade Nougat is known worldwide for its fresh, natural ingredients and distinctive, soft texture. A nougat that melts gently in the mouth.

Traditional nougat-making

For decades, wafer paper has been an essential part of traditional nougat-making. Without it, the process and the product simply wouldn’t be the same. 

 

For Miena, working with wafer paper is the difference between sticky handling and smooth processing. Between inconsistent batches and reliable quality. Between compromise and control. 

 

Wafer paper allows the soft nougat to be shaped, cut and packaged cleanly, while preserving the softness that defines Mienas handmade product.

Not only does it make the nougat-making process easier and more efficient, it is also made from simple, natural ingredients such as potato starch, water and sunflower oil.
