Confetti: party starter or party pooper?
We all know confetti. A real party starter. Always present at weddings, Carnaval and birthdays. There is rarely a party that confetti skips. Where there is confetti, there is joy, right?
Well… that’s not the whole story behind confetti. Because once the music fades and the last guests leave, confetti often turns from party starter into party pooper. Let us explain why.
Why confetti might actually be a party pooper
A lot of people think confetti is made out of paper. But for too long, confetti has been made from plastics and metallic coatings. Small pieces, big impact.
After a good party, confetti rarely gets cleaned up properly. It ends up in the street, in drains and eventually in rivers and seas. There, it breaks down into microplastics that stay in our environment for decades. Harming wildlife and ecosystems along the way.
Edible confetti from saved wafer paper
The plastic problem bothered us. So we decided to solve the confetti problem. Literally.
At Primus Wafer Paper, sustainability doesn’t start with trends, but with smart use of what already exists. During the production of wafer paper sheets, small leftover pieces are created. Perfectly edible. Perfectly safe. Too good to waste.
Instead of throwing them away, we give these wafer paper leftovers a second life, by turning them into edible confetti.
Made from simple, plant-based ingredients like potato starch, water and sunflower oil, edible confetti is:
-
Plastic-free
-
Food-safe
-
Compostable
-
And fun
Less waste. More celebration.
How edible confetti gets every party started
Edible confetti does exactly what confetti should do:
Create joy, surprise and a sense of celebration. Without the guilt.
Sprinkle it over cakes and desserts.
Use it as a playful topping on cupcakes or ice cream. Decorate tables, plates or party boxes. Or let it rain during a sustainable celebration.
Because it’s edible, cleanup is easy (and delicious). Because it’s made from wafer paper, it has a neutral taste and light texture. And because it’s sustainable, it fits perfectly with modern parties that care about impact as much as experience.
When the party's over, there’s nothing left behind but good memories.
